Last month in Tacoma, the capacity crowd had their fill of shocking moments during DEFYANCE FOREVER. Not least of which was the stunning DEFY Championship match, which saw Schaff dethrone reigning kingpin and indie stand-out Artemis Spencer.
During his time as DEFY Champ, Artie represented DEFY around the world, defending his title a crushing 10 times and by this Fall will have competed in some of the most prestigious tournaments in all of Wrestling, Progress' Super Strong Style 16, the DEFY SUPER 8XGP (which he won), and PWG's BOLA.

During his reign in DEFY, Artemis' rising star hadn't gone unnoticed, and earlier in the card, on the very same night as his defeat, the Temple Theatre was granted witness to a run-in, mugging (of Jordan Oasis and Kevin Cook during their match) and open challenge by Bullet Club stand-out and fellow Canadian, Artie's old friend...El Phantasmo.

In 2017, paths diverged. Artemis, suffered a debilitating workplace injury when his foot was crushed by heavy machinery, leaving him on the injured list and convincing him at the time he'd never return to Wrestling again. While El P, frustrated by lack of opportunity and restless, broke out of the Canadian scene to start a new life in the UK, wrestling extensively for companies like Progress, and Rev Pro, he'd find success and big matches quick to come.
Just about two years later, Artemis is one of North America's biggest stars and DEFY Champion, El P attracts attention from the brass of NJPW and becomes one of Wrestling's brightest stars and controversial personality. Then enter DEFYANCE FOREVER, where their paths converge once again as El P comes home to the Northwest with a significant chip on his shoulder. Looking for showcase matches to cement his belief he's the best in the Northwest. Aiming first for his old friend Artemis Spencer.

Despite the unknowns accompanied by El P's eventual return to the Northwest, former champion Artemis Spencer, will not be facing him at DOOMSAYER on September 27th in Seattle. He will instead take a short break from competition in DEFY after BOLA to rest and heal after completing a stunning DEFY record of 15 wins 2 losses.

DEFY brings NJPW and the Super J-Cup to Tacoma on 8/22!
The SUPER J-CUP is ALIVE as DEFY brings New Japan to the Northwest for the very first time!

NJPW is bringing the Super J-Cup to the United States.
At NJPW's post-Dominion press conference, it was announced that the Super J-Cup is returning and will be held across three shows in the West Coast of the United States this August. This will be the first Super J-Cup tournament since 2016.
The first round will be held at the Temple Theater in Tacoma, Washington on Thursday, August 22. The second round will then take place at the San Francisco State University Student Life Event Center in San Francisco, California on Saturday, August 24, and the tournament will conclude with the semifinals and finals taking place at Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, California on Sunday, August 25.
Tickets for all three shows will go on sale on Monday, June 24 at noon Pacific time.
Participants for the Super J-Cup have yet to be announced, but it will be a 16-wrestler tournament and will feature entrants from NJPW, ROH, CMLL, and other promotions.
Jushin Thunder Liger was announced as the producer of this year's Super J-Cup.

A grueling match with DARBY ALLIN at March 8th’s DEFY DRAGON SPIRIT wraps up Shane SWERVE Strickland’s run in DEFY Wrestling.
Shane Strickland wraps up a storied DEFY career after a stunning defeat by Darby Allin. Strickland, will be remembered as the promotion’s fist real flag bearer, a two time DEFY World Champion with a stunning amount of defenses, and 462 total days as Champion.
Post- Dragon Spirit, correspondent Kevin Diers caught up with Strickland backstage and gave the two-time DEFY World Champion a chance to say some last words to The DEFYANCE.
Shane defended the DEFY Championship against a murder’s row of challengers after earning his inaugural run via victory in a 4 way match in Vorhees, NJ at CZW in 2017 against DEFY Champion Davey Richards, Lio Rush, and Joe Gacy.
Strickland lost the Championship to Artemis Spencer at DEFY On Edge in December of 2018. That match can be watched below on a new DEFY NOW for FREE for a limited time only.

Dead Crown is a metal band from Portland, OR. Formed by members of some of Portlands top local and regional acts, they have set out on a new mission to deliver some of the heaviest, captivating music and live performances. Their debut EP “Come Hell” received Billboard success as an independent release and was received greatly from fans around the world. DEFY partners with Mary's Place to help raise funds for new rapid exit shelter in Seattle!
DEFY wrestling is partnering with Seattle based organization Mary’s Place, a group who provides safe, inclusive shelter and services that support women, children and families on their journey out of homelessness. DEFY will help raise 2 million dollars to create the new rapid exit shelter in Seattle.
At DEFY ON EDGE, we will hold a raffle that includes exclusive ring worn gear, collectibles, and other prizes, with proceeds going to Mary’s Place. Tickets can be purchased at the DEFY merch booth for $5 each, or five for $20.
There are an estimated 40,000 homeless children in Washington State.
Mary’s Place empowers families with children to move out of homelessness through a proven community model of shelter and support. We meet the immediate safety needs of our families, and provide wraparound support services to help them resolve barriers to stability. For over five years we have provided crisis response family shelter at several locations in King County, demonstrating effectiveness and an understanding and ability to meet the needs of diverse family configurations and backgrounds.
The Rapid Exit Shelter will provide shelter and services for families who have an identified housing solution that is feasible within a 30-day time period. The Rapid Exit Shelter will have a dedicated Diversion Specialist on site who will work with families daily to assist them in making progress toward their housing goal.

Flatbush Zombies released “New World Order” earlier this week as a one-off single. The track marks the group’s first new music since releasing their second full-length album, Vacation in Hell, this past June.
Flatbush Zombies recently wrapped a European tour. The group is scheduled to perform at Tyler, the Creator’s annual festival, Camp Flog Gnaw in Los Angeles this month, with a lone gig scheduled in Milwaukee on December 21st.

The DEFYNOW moniker, previously used as an event title for smaller scale live events will now be the name for DEFY's flagship online program - featuring matches, interviews, and promos directly from DEFY live events, DEFYNOW will also incorporate documentary-style pieces and music videos to create a "television-like" experience in a shorter format.
"I think for a lot of people - brevity is appreciated and we want to try and present a streaming show that really highlights the matches, the vibe, and the experience of being at a DEFY live event without insisting folks commit a full 3 hours at a time. The first episode of DEFYNOW will be available starting next Friday, March 16th for subscribers to DefyOnDemand.com - as well as partner channels such as HighSpots Network, Demand Progress, PCW Ultra On Demand, CZW Studios and more.
In the near future viewers can expect DEFYNOW to appear on the IMPACT Wrestling streaming platform GWN, in addition to being featured on the Amazon Prime channel "Powerslam Wrestling Network". For the first time, (and very soon) DEFY programming will be available on AppleTV devices.
DEFYNOW launches next week, Friday, March 16th with action from DEFY9 from Seattle's Historic Washington Hall. The episode features fan favorite Rich Bocchini on play by play, the full uncut Randy Myers vs Sami Callihan match (previously only seen on IMPACT Wrestling TV) as well as the Amerikan Gunz vs the team of Nelson and Xstatic.

Breaking: Deals have been signed and DEFY is happy to introduce all 10 entrants into the inaugural DEFY to SURVIVE 10X Elimination Match happening at DEFYX Year One on Friday 2/2 at the Historic Washington Hall in Seattle, Wa.

DEFY to SURVIVE was announced earlier and January and is a 10 person blind draw 5 on 5 elimination match. Each team will battle until every person from the opposing team is eliminated. If more than one member of the winning team remains, they must fight for survival until one stands alone!
Prior to the match names will be pulled out of a hat to determine the teams.
